First Time Clients
Typical Fees for Residential Title 24 Compliance
The following are typical fees for some residential permit scenarios. We provide energy
analysis, energy design consultation, a full energy report for building
permit submittal and, in most cases an ASHRAE heating and cooling design
load calculation. Contact

- A new 3,200 SF (square foot) single family home with two HVAC zones:
$375 (includes the kitchen lighting analysis)
- An 800 SF residential addition, compliance of addition alone: $200
- An 800 SF residential addition plus a 1900 SF existing house, Existing
+ Addition approach: $325
- A three-story, 35,000 SF, 25-unit multi-family building with 15 zones:
$1575
- A prescriptive addition less than 100 SF: $125
Typical Fees for Nonresidential Title 24 Compliance
The following are typical fees for some different nonresidential and high-rise
residential projects. We provide the appropriate energy analysis, energy design
consultation, a full energy report necessary for building permit submittal,
and, when analyzing the mechanical system, an ASHRAE heating and cooling design
load calculation. Contact us for

- Envelope-only compliance of a 20,000 SF office building, 10 zones,
performance approach: $1075
- Envelope, mechanical and indoor lighting compliance of a 6,500 SF office
addition with six mechanical zones: $950
- Lighting-only compliance of a 2,500 SF retail space with display lighting:
$425
- Mechanical-only compliance of a 4-zone, 7,500 SF office: $625
- Envelope, indoor lighting and mechanical compliance of 15-story high-rise
apartment building, with 1st floor lobby and retail space, 25 Zones, 75,000
SF: $2800
Fees for Special Projects
Aside from Title 24 work, our firm offers a variety of energy analysis, energy design consulting,
research and development, technical writing and professional training
services. If you are interested in these services, please contact us to discuss
the nature of your project, and how we might be of assistance. After understanding
the nature of the work involved, we will provide you with a written
proposal which describes specific tasks and a fee associated with each one.
Verbal and Written Proposals
If you would like to know the
cost for our services on a particular project, we will often be able
to give you a verbal proposal over the telephone.
Call us with the following information at hand. Based on a few simple
questions that we will ask you, we will give you the likely fee range for
the project. You might also find it helpful to print out, complete and return
our Project Intake Form.
Low-rise Residential Project Proposal Requirements:
- Gross conditioned floor area (square feet) of the building(s);
- Number of stories and number of dwelling units;
- Number and type(s) of HVAC and water heating systems;
- Whether there is new kitchen lighting;
- Whether the project is all new construction, an addition and/or
an alteration; and
- Building location.
Nonresidential and High-rise Residential Project Proposal Requirements:
- Alteration(s) in existing building vs. addition(s) vs. all new
construction;
- Scope of construction includes envelope, interior lighting, exterior
lighting and/or mechanical system(s);
- Details of the mechanical units and lighting design;
- Gross conditioned area (square feet) of the building(s) and/or
any illuminated outdoor area;
- Number of stories and occupancy type(s);
- Building location.
To receive a written, signed proposal for our services on a project, we
also need:
- A scaled set of hard copy drawings and relevant specifications;
and/or CAD drawings in *.DWG Autocad or *.pdf format and electronic
specifications; and,
- An e-mail address or phone number where we can reach you to answer questions
we have before we can give you a firm fee proposal.
First-Time Clients
For clients with whom we have no previous
credit history, we require the following for the first project only:
- Licensed designers and contractors must pay C.O.D. for all work
completed;
- Homeowners and other building owners must pre-pay the estimated
amount before we begin the project.
After the first project, payment terms are Net 30 on all subsequent invoices.
